19 Year old cricketer Bevan Small took the honour of the Best Catch of the year or even Best Catch of the Decade so far in the match as a Substitute Fielder when his team Central Stags faced Northern Districts. The Moment when he went airborne to catch a ball which was clearly heading over the boundary for a Six!, Bevan leaped in midair and threw the ball back in the air seconds before his fall to the ground which would had given Northern Districts and batsman Brad Wilson a much needed Sixer but to their shock the ball looked to have cleared the boundary for six but Small soared into the air back over the boundary rope and, still airborne, managed to flick the ball into the hands of teammate Michael Mason, who was backing up.
The catch did little to influence the outcome of the match, however, with the Northern Districts claiming an easy eight-wicket victory
Footage of the catch has attracted tens of thousands of views on the World Wide Web.
