Australia has defeated India by 122 runs to take a lead of 1-0 in the four-Test Vodafone Test Series 2011-12. Australia bowled India out for a low score of 169 all out. Tendulkar was the highest scorer with 32 runs, James Pattinson and Peter Siddle were the heroes on the fourth day. Pattinson cracked an unbeaten 37 runs and his last-wicket partnership with Ben Hilfenhaus was instrumental in extending Australia’s lead to 291 runs.
Pattinson then bowled with unwavering precision and claimed four wickets while Siddle captured three wickets including the precious wicket of Sachin Tendulkar.
