• The last 2 overs bowled by the Pakistani bowlers Yasir Arafat and Sohail Tanvir costed 37 runs (Rohit Sharma scoring the bulk of the runs)
• The dismissal of Mohammed Hafeez in the very 1st over of the Run Chase
• Imran Nazir’s Cramps, as a result he got Run Out and India got a huge bonus wicket as Nazir was threatening to take the game away from them (Credit also goes to Robin Uthappa who made a direct hit)
• Promoting Kamran Akmal to Number 3, Poor Guy could not even open his account & lost his off stump to RP Singh
• Younis Khan’s sloppy innings wherin he couldnt hit even the loose balls bowled to him by Joginder Sharma, & when he was required to stay at the crease & help build a partnership, he tried to heave Joginder & in turn could only find the fielder at Mid-On- Yusuf Pathan who took a simple catch to end his misery
• Shoaib Malik who i think was completely under preassure & couldnt repeat his heroics from the past games against the Aussies & the Sri Lankans and like Younis Khan played a painful slow innings of 8 runs in 25 deliveries!!!! which costed his team dearly
• Shahid Afridi’s foolish stroke - It’s been 10 years since Afridi is playing International Cricket but maturity has still not gone in his head, when he was required to keep a cool head & play a substancial innings to rescue Pakistan from 76/5 with Misbah as Partner, Mr Boom Boom Afridi tries to hoike Irfan Pathan out of the stadium…only to see Sreesanth grabbing a simple catch to dismiss him 1st ball, Pakistan got sunk in further problems as now they were 77/6 with all recognised batsmen except for Misbah back in the pavilion

And last but definately not the least - That Fateful Scoop shot by Misbah-Ul-Haq

For a batsman who brought Pakistan to the doorsteps of Victory with pure Cricketing strokes, dont know what went in his mind that he decided to play this Hockey Scoop Shot (maybe he got inspired by Chak De India or SRK

who was cheering for India from the stands - hoping to see it cross the boundary ropes for a Four - but alas to Misbah’s Bad Luck, it landed straight in the hands of Sreesanth who was standing at Short Fine-Leg and…. It was all over… for Misbah and for Pakistan….So Close yet so Far….

And the Rest…became History for Indian Cricket….An Achievement which will shine in Indian Cricket History Forever…

India powered by a superb half century by Gautam Gambhir & a late slog overs burst by Rohit Sharma followed by superb spells by RP Singh & Irfan Pathan saw it clinch the 1st ever ICC Twenty20 World Cup against traditional arch rivals Pakistan by a small margin of just 5 runs.

Misbah-Ul-Haq nearly won the game for Pakistan by carting Harbhajan for 3 sixes in the penultimate over & Joginder Sharma for a six on the 1st ball of the final over, but India kept their nerve under preassure, & Misbah fell while trying to play a slog scoop shot off Joginder & Sreesanth took the catch at short fine leg to end Misbah’s fighting innings & enabled India to clinch the Inaugral ICC Twenty20 World Cup and thus brought an end  to the awesome grand finale which was a fitting tribute to both these great teams who despite having suffered major setbacks prior to the start of this tournament, fought like valiant warriors at the Wanderers, and in the end it was Cricket the sport, which emerged as the Winner.
