Australia dominated the 2nd day of the 2nd Test Match of the Vodafone Test Series 2011-12 against India.
Michael Clarke scored his first double hundred and remained unbeaten on 251* with Michael Hussey giving him company at 55* not out, Earlier in the day Ponting made a century before he was caught by Sachin Tendulkar of the bowling of Ishant Sharma.
Overall Australia only lost the wicket of Ponting who made 134 runs and announced his return into form and Clarke punished the hapless Indian bowling to notch up his first double hundred of his career, What made this double century special for Clarke was that he scored this double century on his homeground – Sydney Cricket Ground in front of 30,000 people and this is his first double hundred as Australian Captain as well.
The Indian bowlers struggled and only Ishant was successful in getting Ponting dismissed when the Australian score was 325 and overall Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Ashwin were guilty of conceeding more than 100 runs each in their respective spells.
